Răzvan POPESCU holds a Master in Sciences (Msc Investment Management) at Bayes Business School London and is PhD student in Economy at Bucharest University of Economic Studies. He started his career in 2007 working for 9 years in one of the most precious Romanian financial institutions – the Romanian National Bank as Portfolio Manager, responsible with managing the foreign exchange reserve. Mr. Popescu is member of the Oil and Gas Employer’s Federation (FPPG) Directorate and representative member of the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP), the international oil industry forum. As of August 2022, Mr. Popescu is Chief Executive Officer of the largest natural gas producer in Romania – S.N.G.N. Romgaz S.A., after acting for two years as Chief Financial Officer. He financially coordinated the most important transaction in the history of the Romanian energy sector for the last 30 years, namely purchase of Exxon participating interest in Neptun Deep block in the Black Sea and its financing. ROMGAZ was awarded for the first time the 'BBB-' rating with a stable outlook by the financial rating agency Fitch in the context of the bond issue for financing Neptun Deep project.
A highly experienced finance professional with over 8 years of activity within the financial audit department of one of the Big 4 companies and other 10 years within ROMGAZ team, Gabriela TRANBITAS’ professional skills are extremely valuable for managing and supervising the company’s financial processes. As CFO she plays an important role in making financial decisions and maintaining a continuous dialogue between the operational and the financial departments of the company to fulfill its strategic objectives, contributing significantly to the creation of added value to ROMGAZ Group.
During her professional career in ROMGAZ, she was involved in various projects, including the most important transaction in the history of the Romanian energy sector, the takeover from ExxonMobil Group of the Neptun Deep block in the Black Sea and obtaining the financing for this acquisition. Ever since taking over the economic department she was actively involved in the company’s rating process, in obtaining and negotiating two credit facilities totaling EUR 250 million as well as in the process of establishing ROMGAZ’ first EMTN program.
Gabriela TRÂNBIȚAȘ graduated the Economic Studies Academy, Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems and she is Fellow within the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”) UK.
Romgaz undertakes geological exploration in order to discover new gas reserves, produces methane by exploiting the reservoirs included in the company portfolio, stores natural gas in the underground deposits, interventions, workover and special operations on wells and technological transport.
