ROMGAZ Natural Gas Document Analysis and Informing Center (Centrul de Documentare și Informare Gaze Naturale Mediaș ROMGAZ) (CDI) is located in the middle of a beautiful park which is an outstanding location for capitalizing on the history of natural gas and document analysis in specific fields of expertise, but also for organizing conferences, symposiums, training courses, openings and exhibitions, round tables and working meetings.

CDI Mission

• Organizing social responsibility, cultural, educative and environmental actions for the benefit of and in collaboration with the members of the community;
• Facilitating improvement and involvement in the research activity and development of documents in the natural gas sector, information gathering and organizing activities for disseminating such;
• Changing the perception on the significant role natural gas has had and continues to have in people’s lives;
• Promoting the actions hosted, and the projects and partnerships with the community.

About CDI
CDI hosts the Gas Museum (Muzeul Gazelor Naturale) which makes available to the general public an exhibition dedicated to the gas industry comprising tridimensional exhibits, photographs, maps, logs, functional mockups, historical and contemporary documents, medals and awards, 3D holograms, 3D topographical maps, all of which are showcased within the exhibition “Natural Gas - History and the Present”, organized in the exhibition space “C.I. Motaș”, given in honor of the promotor of the Romanian gas industry.

On June 13, 2025, the Gas Museum of Mediaș marked fifteen years of activity with a celebration worthy of its cultural and educational role, reaffirming its commitment to the technological heritage, the values of science and involvement in community life.

Inaugurated in 2010, with the occasion of the 100-year anniversary of the first commercial gas well drilled in Romania, the Gas Museum pays homage to the gas industry history. Over time, the Museum has been actively involved in organizing events with impact on education, culture, and environment, contributing to strengthening its prestige among the local community and beyond.

The Library comprises a large number of books in specific areas of expertise that can be made available to those interested to study, thus opening the doors towards the future by document analysis and informing.

The space dedicated to temporary exhibitions, located upstairs, allows the organization of art exhibitions, hand-made, while the Conference Hall allows the development of various operational social responsibility actions together with and for the benefit of the community, where cultural events intertwine with the educative, scientific, environmental, artistic and sport events. The Conference Hall also hosts activities marking special historical, cultural, and artistic events, as well as book launches, poetry or music nights, soulful gatherings, and many other events.

The Center also has a space dedicated to audio and video recording, such as interviews or shows with subjects in various business areas, promoted on the Facebook page and on the web page of Muzeul Gazelor Naturale. Such facilities support delving into Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) actions, by promoting the dialogue and active involvement of the community. Radio Energy has been set up as a mean of communication within ROMGAZ company and it is broadcasted on Romgaz inhouse channel. It provides the latest information in the gas industry, and an informative bulletin on the CDI ongoing activities.
