”This year I graduated Oil and Gas Engineering, a degree program of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Engineering at the University of Oil and Gas in Ploiesti.

The reason I chose this faculty is on one hand my passion for oil and gas resources exploration and exploitation, acknowledging global issues as well career opportunities that this faculty provides for the students, and on the other hand, my wish to bring my contribution to this industry’s development in Romania, industry where our country always had a say in it, and this was a powerful intrinsic motivation for me. When I applied for ROMGAZ scholarship I’ve done it with enthusiasm and determination.

First, I was drawn by the reputation ROMGAZ has within the oil and gas industry and the opportunities it gives to students for developing their knowledge and practical skills. This scholarship wasn’t just a financial opportunity for me, but also a way to access resources and expertise in the field I study. 

Also, ROMGAZ mission and values are the same as my personal interests and values. I was motivated to apply due to my wish to contribute to the energy industry development and to take part in solving the complex issues related to natural resources. When applying for ROMGAZ scholarship I set out to develop my skills in a practical environment, to learn from professionals in the industry and to contribute, as much as possible, to the energy field sustainable future.

My mentor within ROMGAZ is Morched GUETTAT, project manager at Caragele Unit. My career within the company started with an internship of 6 months that will allow me to discover all the company’s departments. Each day at the company is a contribution to my professional development thanks to my mentor who highlights the occurring issues and explains the technical solutions. Each day ends with a recap of that day, which shows the progress of the knowledge I have gained.

I believe I will reach my professional objectives within the company that I have set out for myself at my beginning and this is made possible due to the pleasant work environment and the fact that the company does everything possible for my development and to enrich my knowledge, providing me at the same the support for continuing my studies.

Personally, I would advise all students in the field to apply for this scholarship program as it is an important step for them in this industry. Besides the scholarship, which for the students represents a reward for all the effort in achieving remarkable results, you have a job ensured right after graduation, a stable job which is something very hard to find nowadays. Also, within this company students can benefit from experts in the field to pave their way with innovative ideas in the field due to the research possibilities carried out at the company, leading to a beautiful professional development.”
