Together for a green future – ROMGAZ inspires pupils to become Energy Detectives
ROMGAZ, together with Mihai Eminescu Secondary School in Mediaș, hosted an interactive educational event for children, designed to raise awareness on energy efficiency, responsible consumption, and environmental stewardship.
ROMGAZ Documentation and Information Center hosted the event within the "Green School" program, as part of the broader "Energy Efficiency" project.
A total of 44 third-grade students, guided by teachers Camelia Stroia and Claudia Stan, explored the importance of sustainable energy consumption and natural resources protection through playful and creative activities.
Education for a balanced future – play based learning
The event opened with an engaging presentation by Angelica Păucean from ROMGAZ Documentation and Information Center (Natural Gas Museum). She challenged the children in a friendly and accessible dialogue about energy efficiency, explaining how energy is produced, delivered to homes, and how it can be used responsibly.
The educational brochure “Be an Energy Detective!” introduced children the concept of energy efficiency, providing them insights on how to bring their contribution to a cleaner and more sustainable world, even at a young age.
The children were handed the “Be an Energy Detective!” activity sheet - a vibrant and engaging learning resource. This way, the younger members of our society completed exercises, identified correct answers, assumed the role of energy detectives, and examined household appliances, discussing practical ways to save electricity, water, and paper.
Creativity and commitment to the environment
During the second part of the event, each pupil took on the opportunity to draw the way they imagine "the future of the planet" – a clean, green, and balanced world.
At the end, the children filled in "My Energy Commitment," – a promise to turn off the lights when leaving the room, use water sparingly, and take care of nature every day.
The event was full of enthusiasm and learning. The children discovered that living in balance with the environment is not just a broad concept, but a daily choice. They understood that energy resources are precious and that each of us can make a difference for a cleaner future.

These initiatives take place in collaboration with the schools in Mediaș and also other localities, helping shape an informed and engaged future generation.

This program is part of a broader series of initiatives and events dedicated to environment protection and sustainable development, through which ROMGAZ promotes a balanced and responsible model of evolution.
Throughout the year, ROMGAZ Documentation and Information Center (Natural Gas Museum) hosted numerous educational and interactive activities under collaboration agreements with educational institutions, local authorities, and non-governmental organizations.
